Morong, Bataan || Phi Phi Hotel & Beach Resort

When friends ask me to go on a trip, its often along the lines of  "C'mon we're going to the beach this weekend, you in?" and its almost always a "Yes!" I don't really bother about the details as long as I know were going seaside :)

Destination: Phi Phi Hotel and Beach Resort
Location: Morong, Bataan
When: April 2, 2011
Departure from Manila: 8:00 am
Travel Forecast: Can't wait to meet old and new friends :)

Before going to Bataan, we went on a side trip to Floridablanca, Pampanga to help a cause. Kudos to the people who do this day in and out.  It was such a humbling experience.

Walk the Walk

was thinking of joining the kids to escape the intense heat
there's such a rustic feel to the place
It's a 3-4 hour ride from Manila to Morong. All I know is that you pass by Subic (you know me and directions hehe). Arrangements were made in advance. For room rates and accommodation, check the link above.
insane number of bats as we passed by Subic
There's 9 of us in the group, and the other 4 I'm with went on ahead to Morong. The rest will be joining us later that day. The other half was responsible for making the reservation so we have no idea what was waiting for us when we got there (I personally have no clue lol).

Phi Phi Beach Resort have two separate locations along the strip of the beach (looks like they recently obtained another property not far from the main resort, i'd say about 80% done and still some finishing touches underway) and we only found out after looking for an attendant and had to scour the place. So finally, we found the main beach house shown below.

Olympic sized pool located at their new site
We arrived late in the afternoon, so we spent a few hours just hanging out at the beach until it got really dark and dinner was served (part of the package). After a nice meal, we went to the new and bigger pool on the other side and stayed there until 1am, resort crew approached us and said, "Have to clean the pool :D"

We all got up at different hours the following day. The early birds (not me) went on a boat ride for some island hopping and a visit to the Pawikan Conservation Center not far from the resort. Boat ride was about Php 130-150/person.
Help Save the Pawikan. Amen to that.
Personally, I'd rather see Pawikan's in their natural habitat. That's just me.

And so, for those of us who decided to stay, we went around the resort and look what we found!
Obstacle Course!!!
I skinned a knee as I fell from the ropes lol Its ll good.

Uh-huh! Beach Volleyball :D
Frisbee of course!
We were allowed to stay until 4:00pm (two hours more that the supoosed 2:00pm checkout) without having to pay an additional fee :D Phi Phi, YOU ROCK!!! I have to say, the management and crew were such nice people. They made us feel so special, with each and every request granted with a smile :)

And so another beach, some other time...

Ta-ta :D
